I love drawing!

Last post for the day and it's a wrap! This happens to be my blog header's mascot. Little Ms. Doodles :)
It's cute so I shall declare it to be me! Besides, Little Ms. Doodles here is wearing my favorite striped shirt and pink headband. And yeah, I like yellow backgrounds!

Recently I've been getting questions like why did I use highperjam as a title for my blog. Well actually it's suppose to be HYPERJAM since I am Jam and I am hyper. Yep! I happen to know the correct spelling of hyper. :) It just so happens that sadly this username is already taken. So i decided to spell it differently. Now it sounds like you get HIGH per JAM.. haha! :)

Doodle me!

Nowadays I've been fond of making drawings of myself. Here are some samples.
The blue one is me (yay for my Disney shirt!) and the pink one is my sister.

I'm not that blue actually, but I do have curly or wavy hair and tons of baby hairs that tend to stick out of my head. I also have chinky eyes and my face is chubby, well, I am chubby person.. :))
Anyways here's another attempt to draw myself with my cat Mogu-Mogu..

This is almost closest to what I really look like; although I'm a bit thinner here (I really need to stop drinking colas..). I actually used this illustration for my tumblr post here. :)
I shall keep make new doodles of me and my friends.. meaning to say more doodles to come!

My attempt to do digital painting..

Almost everyone in school has been doing it besides vectoring. So I thought I should give it a go.
First I tried making in it in black and white.. I was told that I should practice, practice and practice with values..

Then I tried applying color..

It didn't come out exactly how I wanted it to be but I liked it anyways . After that I tried doing another one, but it ended out looking like this, haha!

It's more cartoonish than the previous one but I love it nonetheless. I think I'm really fond of doing artworks like these. But that doesn't mean I'll stop learning how to digi paint. Just as my professor told me, I just need to practice. Practice, practice, practice!! :))

Ang Pamamasyal ni Rizal (Rizal's travel)

We made a short film that's about the how the peso coin traveled as the Filipinos celebrate fiesta. Rizal in the film was the coin. My part in the group was to create and color the scenes and characters in PS. Here are some of the scenes which were assigned to me..

Church Scene:

Karaoke Scene: ( We Filipinos love singing :) )

Here are the houses I made for the first part of the film. I was also the one who animated this scene.

Lastly we have on of the characters which were designed by my good friend, Civoel Capili.
I liked the style we chose for this project.. I can have the colors go out of lines! I don't need to worry about making sure ever color stays within the outline of the drawing.

Oh and here's Dr. Jose Rizal by our key animator, Christian Daguno.

Finally here's a clip of our work. This isn't the final copy though, revisions were made in the final output. Sadly I don't have the copy of our finished 3mins video.. Anyways here you go!

If I can recall it right, this was from last year, 2010.

Prehistoric Adventures prototype and final output

We were given a task to introduce fun facts about dinosaurs to children through E-Learning. And here's a sample of our 1st GUI design for checking.

After some few changes in the design and layout, here we now have the final output for our interaction design class. We got a flat 1 in our grade on this one, RAWR!! :))

This was way back in 2009 by the way..
Design and Interaction: Me :)
Design and Animation: John Alvin Cruz
Software: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash

Hear no Evil, See no Evil, Speak no Evil..

The caption says it all..

I'm trying to learn new a way in coloring. I love playing with the colors and using their light and dark shades for the highlights and shadows. Also, I like making use of loose lines. Will post some more definitely and will see how much I can improve myself. I'll definitely do my best!

Some Perspective

OK here we go.
L-R (One Point, Two Points, Three Points)

My hands are too soft..
Anyways, tomorrow I shall post more school stuff that I have done along with my other classmates.
For now, this is the last post for my 2008 sketches.. I be posting some new sketches after I have done re-posting my old ones.. Till then!

Folds with Emotions

Whew! Still a lot more to go.. maybe I'll stop after finishing posting my cartooning set. Then I'll just post the others tomorrow!

reference photos used.

Logan

Muscles, muscles and more muscles :)

I know its not wolverine.. But somehow it reminds me of him though.. :]

Oh yeah!

So I've been blogging nonstop since I started this one. I'm just reblogging some of my works from my other blogger accounts. Here's one of my drawings that I'm actually proud of.

TADA! It's graded!

I know I still need a lot of practicing in drawing and stuff..  But getting grades like this makes you wanna keep on going and learning despite the sleepless nights and rush deadlines! Oh and Thank You Ma'am Julie! :]

Male and Female face features

Again I have so many cartooning exercises. It would be a shame not to share them at all.. :))
Let's start with the eyes. I LOVE DRAWING EYES! Particularly female eyes, elegance and stuff.

Next we have a parade of noses! (up-female noses; down-male noses)

Last but not the least, we have the smiling lips!

I'll say it again.. I love drawing female features.. haha!

More sketches!

One thing i missed from our cartooning class was actually the drawing exercises. Yes, we were given many but I think our instructor wants us to get used to drawing a lot of stuffs since it would be good practice for us.. And so here are some sketches I did. Again we were instructed to analyze and copy from a given reference material.

Curves.. Curves.. Curves..

I enjoy doing female poses, because it can have so much drama.. haha!

Mr. & Mrs. Muscle

This one is from my old blog, Random Art Caboodles. It's one of our drawing exercises which we were required to copy from a given reference. The funny thing is, even though it was copied, obviously my drawings were a bit off.

Fine, I admit that I'm not a natural at this. But it won't stop me from learning! I just have to keep on drawing and drawing and drawing and drawing...

Will be blogging in 5.. 4.. 3.. 2.. 1..

Howdy!

This is actually my 4th blog in blogger since April.. I'm still trying to get a feel on what should be the theme or the content of this blog at least since I also have other blogs besides the ones I have in blogger. So I have decided that this blog will have everything.. from random sketches to digital art or to anything that I can use to show my passion for art! For starters, I'll be posting some of my old stuffs from my other accounts so I can take them down and just focus on this one.

And so I shall begin blogging starting with one of my favorite drawing exercises: Hands in Counting!

OK fine. I have such weird hand drawings.. These are from way back in 2008. Seeing old drawings actually inspires me to do better. Yeah, I can do this!
